Grow Through What You Go Through

Hello everyone!

Tonight’s post is a little different than usual. I know I’ve been on and off the blog for the past few months (life has been pretty hectic), but I wanted to use tonight’s blog to highlight the amazing work of my friend Ashley Hetherington.

I met Ashley at the beginning of sophomore year. She was doing a journalism project on transfer students and ended up interviewing me in my basement dorm room. I could instantly tell that she was pursuing a passion that she was absolutely called to do. Flash forward a year and I found myself in a recording studio with Ashley at school. We were recording what would end up becoming two episodes on her brand new PODCAST!!!

Ashley has a blog called The Honey Scoop (you can click on that name to check it out!) It evolved from her advice column, Dear Ash, to an online community for women (and it is personally one of my favorite places on the Internet to go when I need a little pick-me-up). She posts all sorts of things – from lifestyle tips, to stories of her faith, to fashion and beauty finds, to relationship advice. It was only a matter of time before this amazing online community that she has worked built added a new forum, and what better way to expand than with the oh-so-trendy podcast.

The podcast is called Grow Through What You Go Through, and it launched last Friday. The launch included 5 episodes. Two of the episodes are with me – one being about my freshman year, and the other being about my transfer experience. Essentially, if you’ve read it on this blog, it’s probably on the podcast. The other three were with my dear friend Alyssa who tells her story of struggling with anxiety and depression, with a woman named Lindsey Hall who survived the Las Vegas shooting, and one with Ashley herself on her quest to realize her identity. The whole purpose of the podcast is to share stories of the trials and tribulations of different women, and how they overcame their struggles. It is an extremely uplifting podcast, packed with incredible lessons and insights.

I am still so insanely honored and humbled to have been asked to be a part of this journey and am so excited to see the amazing things Ashley will continue to do on her platform. I am going to link my two episodes below, but while you’re on the site be sure to check out the other episodes and all of the other AMAZING content that Ashley and The Honey Scoop have to offer!!! (Seriously, you won’t regret it).
